Departure and flight
Usually, your local Au Pair agency is going to book the flight for you. Afterwards, you will receive all the details about your departure date and time. There may be other Au Pairs departing at the same time – that is a good opportunity to start making new friends right away!
Remember to be at the airport at least two hours before your departure time. It is also very helpful to tag your suitcase with your name, home and the host family’s address. Every now and then it happens that suitcases “get lost”. They don’t really get lost but probably just landed at a wrong airport. The airline makes sure that your suitcase will be brought to the stated address!
Keep in mind that there are many restrictions about things you are allowed and not allowed to take on board. Please check all the details on your airline’s website.
